Mst. Sonia Begum, a PPEPP-EU member from Golachipa Union, is awarded the prestigious ‘Best Joyeeta’ award by the Department of Women Affairs in Golachipa Upazila, Patuakhali, recognising her successful and inspiring life- her rebirth leaving behind all the inequalities and injustice she faced.
Commemorating the ‘Begum Rokeya Day’ and the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’, the local administration handed her the award in December 2023.
