Prosperity partner organisations have marked the Sheikh Russell Day 2021 by arranging special events focusing on children and mothers across its working area.

As part of the day’s programme, PKSF also held discussions and organised special events. Among other top PKSF officials, Foundation Chairman Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad and Managing Director Dr Nomita Halder, ndc paid homage to Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who was murdered on 15 August 1975 along with most of his family members.

Prosperity project’s daylong activities included special meetings of Mother and Child Forum, Adolescent Boys Club and Adolescent Girls Club. These platforms function as the centre of service delivery related to health, nutrition and sanitation, among other things.

Marking the day, partner organisations delivered special nutrition and healthcare services for pregnant and lactating mothers, under-5 children and adolescent boys and girls, who work as volunteers to carry out social works and awareness campaigns under the project.

The activities and services included nutritional status measurement, Antenatal Care (ANC) and Postnatal Care (PNC) for mothers as well as cooking demonstration, an activity that promotes ideal cooking and nutritious food consumption.

Partner organisations also organised different cultural events where adolescent boys and girls rendered patriotic songs and recited poems.
